Team Inspiration

by Aileen

It wasn’t until recent years that I came to understand the power of a team. Not having participated in team sports and usually pursuing personal goals on my own, the idea of a team just didn’t resonate with me. I understood the power of great partners and friends, but a team just wasn’t in the vision.

Today it’s pretty clear that the power of a team can be truly life altering. Things can happen with a team that wouldn’t have happened alone. So what do you do if you don’t have a team? Allow for one and begin to create it.

Sounds too simple?

Some of my greatest mentors and teachers are people that I’ve never met in person and never spoke to. I’ve simply studied their words and practiced their suggestions and they became my earliest team members. I’m also lucky to have an amazing sister who has always been a power partner. So, it may not look like you have a team at first, but if you look around and open your perception… This is how we can all start creating our team.

Creating your Team Inspiration may happen slowly like cultivating a beautiful garden, or it may happen quickly. All that matters is that you start!

We all have days where we may not want to demand the best of ourselves. We may doubt a goal or dream; we may feel anything and everything other than inspired. But, inspiration FUELS us! It moves us to do what otherwise may not have been “possible.”

I’m feeling profoundly grateful to those who inspire me through their words, their actions, their spirit. Inspiration keeps us moving when we want to stop; it keeps us aspiring to new heights when otherwise we might just rest for a while.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” I say, nothing great was ever achieved without inspiration. If you’ve got an inspiration team, you can’t help but to have wind under your wings helping you fly higher, smoother, further!

So without further ado I’d like to celebrate those who inspire me, and share them with you. Let’s raise a glass and cheer. Here’s to those who inspire!

Louise L Hay – Her life, her story, her life’s work, her wisdom and words all inspire me to know end. Whenever I need to light myself up and move forward regardless of how I may resist, this woman moves me. ”You are not a helpless victim of your own thoughts, but rather a master of your own mind.”  ”You are the power in your world! You get to have whatever you choose to think!”

Joy – Her name matches the energy she vibrates out into the world. A visit to her blog, “Unfolding Your Path to Joy,” is likely to fuel anyone. Her commitment to living life with an open heart and finding magic in all things everywhere, will give you more magic, gratitude, joy and love.

Angela – The Queen of Intuition.  Angela gives us the keys to the kingdom as she teaches us to go inside and hear the voice of our intuition. No matter how far off you’ve roamed from intuition, or how cloudy headed you might find yourself; she teaches you how to go inside yourself and find clarity and knowing.

John – Courage and humor. He journeys into the great unknown. Packs up his life and goes on an adventure to a new home, a new reality, a new everything. He overcomes loss, grief and darkness, and with humor he inspires us to be 100% ourselves and show up to life 100%. His new blog 100% Champions, connects inspiration through sports and awakens the champion in his readers. He’s a magnificent life force and always brings humor to the table.

Farnoosh – The Motivation Lady. If in need of motivation to get out of your own way she is sure to kick you into gear. She inspires, motivates and lives her words which are contagious. Be ready for a boost of energy.

Jane – I love her journey. She’s found her way to teaching art classes; she’s become a Healing Touch Practitioner – she listens to the call within her soul and follows it. How can anyone not be inspired witnessing someone grow their life so beautifully.

Bold and Fearless Tess – So many things inspire me about Tess. Her family life, her journey from being a mom as a teenager – her honesty, her desire to help others become fearless. She’s a powerful surge of inspiration.

Jeanie – A true seeker with an amazing openness to life. Whatever is in her heart, she allows it to become reality. Having met her in person, I can tell you she emits an inspiring energy. You know those people who have an undeniable energy field around them; well hers is one of openness and inspiration.

Helen Keller – Just thinking about her is a lesson in overcoming obstacles. Blind and deaf she found away to become an amazing prolific author, political activist, lecturer, and became the first deaf-blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree.”We can do anything we want if we stick to it long enough.”"We would never learn to be brave and patient if there were only joy in the world.”"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experiences of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and success achieved.” “Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light.”

Victor H Frankl – His life and his book, Mans Search for Meaning. After thinking about him and how he made it through the concentration camps with hope, faith and focused his meaning in life even  a midst the extreme suffering. “The inner hold a prisoner has on his spiritual self relies on having a faith in the future, and that once a prisoner loses that faith, he is doomed.” We can grow our faith, our spirituality and our vision of the future regardless of what we are expereincing. Just the thought of him and I have incredible clarity and gratitude.

Abraham Lincoln – As if being a self-taught lawyer isn’t enough – he reminds me to hold myself accountable for my actions and to take personal responsibility. There is so much we can achieve if we hold ourselves accountable and continue forward in the direction of our dreams

My Sister – A ray of light that shines no matter how stormy life can be. Eternal shining light and incredibly resourceful. With a desire in her heart she journeyed across the country. Found a way to build a full and fulfilling life in a place where she knew no one. Desired to have a career as an artist and created one from scratch. Lived like no minimalist I ever knew, she trusts her intuition and take actions based on her inner guidance. She follows the dreams in her heart with immense action and bravery. Courageous, strong, brave, beautiful inside and out – she lives with an incredible openness to life, no matter what life tosses at her.

My husband G – The most optimistic person I’ve ever met in my life. Never needs to be inspired, never needs to “work on affirmations” to change his mindset – just genuinely happy, optimistic, and inspired. Lives true to his own values and ethics regardless of what others may do and has an incredible inner peace. Inspires me endlessly.

Do you have an Inspiration Team? Who inspires you? What do you do to keep inspired to live in the direction of your dreams?

Aileen, you are a sweetheart. Thank you for the inclusion, I’m rather chuffed at being on the same I-Team as Abraham Lincoln and Louise Hay. I just try to do my thing and share my experiences and ups and downs with others trying to be my own best person and I love to learn from the feedback and the input people give. I’ve found much understanding of life from blogging and meeting lights like you who add so much to every day. Right now I’m on a new journey but I’m never alone because the blogosphere is full of inspiration, delight, support, and camaraderie and you are full of all of these. It’s been my total pleasure to know you Aileen, a total pleasure! Bliss you always x

Far too often people feel along in this world, when they don’t need to feel alone. There are radiant, inspiring people all around and often times we just need to be open & receptive. John, your desire to be the best you can be and live the best life for yourself inspires!

You reminded me of the power of teams. Teams can certainly be dysfunctional, but when they are working well, everybody can bring out their best, at a new level. It’s the difference between playing solo or being part of a large orchestra … it changes the game.

Hi J.D. Yes teams can be dysfunctional and when that happens it’s not going to be a positive powerful asset. I like your perspective, ” It’s the difference between playing solo or being part of a large orchestra … it changes the game.”
